Merlon International is oil and gas E & P company actively exploring for oil and gas in the Western Desert of Egypt and the Gulf Coast of Texas.

Recently, the company announced the completion of its Silah 1-X well as the discovery well in the Silah Oil Field in the Fayum Concession in the Western Desert. Initial production of 500 bopd (non-stimulated) was from Upper Bahariya perforations. Multiple oil bearing zones tested oil in the Upper Bahariya and Abu Roash "G" sands. The discovery well is expected to begin production at rate of 1,500 bopd in April 2009. This new structure appears to be the largest oil bearing onshore structure in Egypt containing an estimated 500 million barrels of oil in place.

The company is also actively involved in a large seismic/lease acquisition on the Texas gulf coast on which drilling should commence Q3 2009.
